HOLT, Fla., Sept. 14, 2017–Latest updates from the National Hurricane Center has increased the probability of the two Atlantic systems for further development.
The first tropical wave is located about 800 miles southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands and is moving westward around 15 mph.
Gradual development is expected and a tropical depression could form early next week as it moves over the tropical Atlantic Ocean, according to the NHC.
Formation chance of this system increased to 60 percent at the 8 a.m. CDT update.
The second tropical wave, located between the west coast of Africa and the Cabo Verde Islands, is traveling at 10-to-15 mph.
Some development is possible during the next few days, but the system may encounter less-favorable upper-level winds.
However, the NHC increased the chance of further development to 40 percent through the next five day.
