SHALIMAR, Fla., July 23, 2018–A Fort Walton Beach man is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after deputies say he attacked his girlfriend’s estranged husband with a knife.

Alejandro Jose Flores
Alejandro Jose Flores, 35, is accused of cutting Brent Griffin multiple times Monday night during a child custody exchange at Griffin’s Kentucky Avenue home in Crestview.
Flores had gone along with his girlfriend, April Griffin, to the prearranged exchange, but got into a fight with her estranged husband.
Deputies with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office said Flores pulled a knife and slashed Griffin across his chest, the left side of his neck up to his ear and his upper left arm.
The chest wound took sixty staples to close.

April Ann Griffin
April Griffin was also injured, cut across her forehead, right arm and left wrist.
She told deputies her estranged husband attacked her and Flores with a knife, but video and witness statements backed up Brent Griffin’s account of the incident.
In January, April Griffin was arrested for stealing more than $1,000 in cash from an woman’s purse while at the Beal Parkway Walmart in Fort Walton Beach.
