CRESTVIEW, Fla., March 5, 2020–Okaloosa County has begun a daily controlled burn operation that will run through the end of the month.
Burning operations is part of the Foy Shaw Parkway project, according to a news release from Okaloosa County.
The project consists of building approximately 0.8 miles of a new two-lane road from the intersection of U.S. 90 and Cavalier Drive to the intersection of John Givens Road and Skyline Drive.
The project is under construction now in northeast Crestview at the Bob Sikes Airport.
While this project won’t directly affect the Holt area, drivers headed to Crestview may see smoke over the city in the direction of the airport.
