CHIPLEY, Fla., May 8, 2020—A project to resurface State Road 189 begins next week.

Improvements to SR 189 will begin at SR 4 in Baker to the Alabama state line, covering 14 miles of highway.

Improvements will include milling and resurfacing the roadway, drainage upgrades, widening the northbound left turn lane at Red Barrow Road and southbound left turn lane at County Road 2A, as well as adding new signs and pavement markings.

Additionally, expansion joint replacement at Narrow’s Creek and Dry Ford Branch bridges is also planned.

Travelers can expect intermittent lane restrictions during this period.

Construction is scheduled to be completed spring 2021.
