HOLT, Fla., July 17, 2020—Lowe’s and Home Depot will require customers to wear face coverings next week.
The stores announced today that they are adopting nationwide standards for customers to wear face masks in all U.S. stores.
The Lowe’s requirement goes in to effect July 20. Home Depot’s requirement goes in to effect July 22.
Both stores will provide a free mask to shoppers who may not have one, according to both releases.
Signs posted at store entrances will remind customers of the mask requirement.
According to a news release today, about 85 percent of Home Depot stores already require masks in compliance with local and state regulations.
Lowe’s release states their employees have been required to wear a mask since May.
The releases also suggested customers may shop online at lowes.com and homedepot.com and use curbside pickup or home delivery if they prefer not to shop in the store.
