CRESTVIEW, Fla., Feb. 5, 2021—A Crestview man is facing multiple felony charges this evening after leading sheriff’s deputies on a high-speed chase Friday afternoon.

John Michael Spencer, 23, rammed a patrol vehicle and hit two civilian vehicles in a stolen pickup truck while recklessly trying to escape from Okaloosa County Sheriff deputies, according to a sheriff’s office release.
No one was injured in the incident.
Spencer led OCSO deputies on a high-speed chase southbound on S. Ferdon Boulevard where he rammed a deputy’s vehicle attempting to escape. Spencer’s truck bounced off the deputy’s vehicle and struck a sedan in the northbound lane as he continued to speed away.
The chase along S. Ferdon Boulevard south of Interstate 10 was captured by Crestview resident Mikala DuBose.
Spencer was captured after he ditched the truck off Rattlesnake Bluff Road and was chased down by deputies on foot.
Meanwhile, fire officials are also investigating a suspicious fire at Spencer’s home, next door to where the truck was stolen.

Holt Fire District and Crestview Fire Department assisted North Okaloosa Fire District in battling the blaze on Staff Road around 3:30 p.m.
Spencer is charged with hit and run and leaving the scene of an accident, fleeing to elude police, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, grand theft auto, resisting arrest and probation violation.
Spencer was arrested in 2016 on an out-of-county arrest warrant in Bay County for criminal mischief, battery and fleeing to elude law enforcement.
