HOLT, Fla., Feb. 6, 2021—Winn-Dixie pharmacies will be offering the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine throughout Florida beginning Feb. 11 according to its parent company Southeastern Grocers Inc.
The Winn-Dixie pharmacy page has not yet identified which Florida locations will be included in the vaccine distribution, so it’s unknown at this time if Crestview’s store will be one of the participating pharmacies. A statement on the page says the store will announce when it is able to administer the vaccine.
Southeastern Grocers is partnering with the Florida Department of Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to offer approximately 8,100 free vaccine doses through the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program.
Winn-Dixie will join Publix Super Market, the first Florida grocery store pharmacies which began administering the vaccine a couple of weeks ago.
While supplies last, vaccines will be offered free to health care workers, residents and staff of long-term care facilities and adults ages 65 and older in accordance with Florida health authority guidelines.
Vaccines will be free, with or without health insurance. Those with insurance must provide their health insurance card during their scheduled appointments. Those without must present a driver’s license or social security card.
The store’s website, www.winn-dixie.com/pharmacy/covid-vaccine, will have updates, including vaccine availability details, participating stores and to schedule an appointment online, when available.
