
HOLT, Fla., July 31, 2021—An excessive heat warning remains in effect today for northwest Florida as July comes to a close.
Heat stress remains a concern for at least one more day as the hot and humid weather persists through the weekend.

High temperatures are expected to top out in the mid-to-upper 90s across much of the area with a forecast high of 97 here pushing the heat index to 110 degrees.
With a 40 percent rain chance, a few showers and thunderstorms could pop up this afternoon and into this evening.
However, widespread showers and storms are expected by tomorrow afternoon. Rain chance is 70 percent.
