CRESTVIEW, Fla., Feb. 2, 2022—A Crestview man was arrested yesterday after a two-and-a-half-hour standoff when deputies arrived to serve an arrest warrant.

Arrested was Joseph Styles, 32, and charged with resisting an officer without violence.
According to an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office release, Fugitive Warrants and patrol units arrived at a home on Oak Terrace Drive to take a wanted individual into custody.
While a perimeter was being established outside the house, Styles was spotted trying to escape through a back window.
When spotted, Styles, who has active warrants out of New York on a dangerous drugs-related charge, went inside and refused to come out, according to the release.
Members of the OCSO Special Response Team, Crisis Negotiations Unit and other law enforcement assets were on hand. SRT deputies ultimately entered a bedroom in the house and took Styles into custody.
He is being held at the Okaloosa County jail, awaiting extradition to Oneida County New York.
