CRESTVIEW, Fla., July 28, 2026—The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatality crash that occurred July 3 at approximately 8:45 p.m. on Garden City Road south of Swan Avenue north of Crestview.

The FHP is attempting to locate the driver of an SUV who is a potential witness to the crash. 

On July 3, a homemade go-cart headed south on Garden City Road lost control of the cart when it ran onto the west shoulder of the road. It then crossed in front of a northbound pickup truck.

The left front of the truck hit the go-cart. The 32-year-old go-cart driver was killed.

Prior to the crash, the SUV the FHP is looking for turned right onto Garden City Road from Horne Hollow Road, traveled north, then turned left onto Swan Avenue.

The SUV appears to be a light-colored new model vehicle.
