HOLT, Fla., July 29, 2026—Two men were critically injured in a multiple vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 90 in Holt this morning.

The accident happened around 10:10 a.m. near Bryant Bridge Cutoff Road.

A Chevrolet pickup was traveling east on Hwy 90 when it ran off the road. The driver, a 70-year-old Pace man, overcorrected into the path of a Dodge pickup traveling west, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

The front of the Dodge, driven by a 69-year-old Crestview man, collided with the right side of the Chevy. Both vehicles came to rest on the roadway, blocking both lanes of traffic, according to the release.

Multiple agencies responded to the accident, including Holt and Baker fire districts, Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Fish and Wildlife, Okaloosa County EMS and the Florida Highway Patrol who conducted the accident investigation.

Okaloosa MedFlight and a second life flight helicopter responded, landing at the First Baptist Church of Holt where the patients were loaded onto the aircraft.

Both lanes of Hwy 90 were closed for about an hour before one lane was reopened. Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office notified the public that both lanes were reopened around 5:30 p.m.
