CRESTVIEW, Fla., Aug. 4, 2026—The Crestview History Museum is offering ice cream sundaes Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. while supplies last.

The museum’s family friendly Second Saturday event, “Summer Sundaes at the Museum,” features several flavors of ice cream with lots of toppings. Enjoy a sundae while discovering Crestview’s colorful past.

Museum exhibits include the recently completed “Takin’ Care of Crestview Business” display about the city’s commercial history. Explore displays about the railroads that created Crestview, or about the Bush family who once called the Bush House, that houses the museum, home.

Learn about the city’s relationship under Sister Cities International with Noirmoutier, France. In a very unusual display, examine personal first aid supplies, government brochures and a 64-year-old jar of Peter Pan peanut butter, all found in a family Cold War-era fallout shelter right outside of Crestview.

Perhaps the most relevant display is a new exhibit in the Bush House dining room of ice cream memorabilia from years past, presented by Historic Preservation Board member and museum volunteer Wanda and Mark Hulion from their personal collection. From vintage ice cream scoops to ornate parfait glasses, dozens of ice cream-themed artifacts make up this temporary exhibit.

Summer Sundaes at the Museum is a great opportunity to explore the city’s history while enjoying make-it-yourself ice cream sundaes. There’s no cost—though donations to the museum are welcome—for the history lessons or the ice cream.
