HOLT, Fla., June 1, 2026—Holt Fire District responded to a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 10 around 9:30 p.m. last night.
A white Ford F-250 pulling a 40-foot gooseneck trailer transporting a Walmart Ram Sprinter van was traveling west in the outside lane near mile marker 43 when a minivan traveling in the same lane ran into the back end of the trailer, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
The driver of the pickup lost control of the truck and it careened left off the roadway and into the tree line where it collided with a large pine tree, according to the release.
The 45-year-old male driver suffered minor injuries. The 62-year-old male passenger was pinned inside the truck and also suffered minor injuries, according to the FHP. Both men were from Pensacola.

A Holt Fire team cut brush and a pine tree out of the way, and using an extrication spreader, popped the passenger door, freeing the man inside. The whole process took about six minutes, according to Holt Fire Chief Scott Chestnut.
The passenger was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The 40-year-old male driver of the minivan from Miami also suffered minor injuries.
Westbound traffic was reduced to one lane for about three hours to remove the truck, trailer and van, causing a backup to the Wilkerson Bluff Road overpass.
