The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office closed down the Holt Beer Garden in 1977 for creating a public nuisance.  According to the article, the “juke joint” was located west of Crestview, somewhere along the 7-mile stretch of U.S. 90. However, no one in the area can agree on just where this place was. People in the area remember Ed Evans who operated the joint, but no one, yet, owns up to frequenting the establishment.

  1. I have lived in Holt many years but I do not remember a beer joint by this name, if anyone does please comment as to the location.
