HOLT, Fla., May 6, 2021—A crash on Interstate 10 early this morning snarled rush-hour traffic due to debris on the highway.
A commercial box liquor truck traveling in the inside eastbound lane drifted onto the grassy median near mile marker 49 around 4:30 a.m., according to a Florida Highway Patrol release.
The 57-year-old Pensacola driver overcorrected in an attempt to return to the travel lane and caused the truck to overturn onto the passenger side and ended up in the wooded area on the south side of the interstate.
The driver suffered minor injuries, according to the release.

As a result of the accident, the alcohol in the truck scattered across both eastbound lanes of I-10, causing the road closure.
Interstate traffic was backed up to the west beyond mile marker 43.
The outside blocked lane was reopened by 5:45 a.m. The blocked portion of the inside eastbound lane was opened sometime after 8:30 a.m.
Holt Fire District, Crestview Fire Department and Okaloosa County EMS also responded to the accident.
