First tropical storm of the season expected

The National Hurricane Center has increased the storm's chances of development to 90 percent.

Caribbean system continues to develop

The storm system near the Yucatan is likely to develop into a tropical depression or storm once it moves into the Gulf.

The storm system in the Caribbean Sea is not expected to develop much until it crosses the Yucatan Peninsula and moves into the Gulf of Mexico.

This system has a 40 percent chance of further development that could impact the holiday weekend.

Hurricane Nate has weakened to a category one storm. Tropical-storm-force winds extend mainly toward the east side of the storm.

Nate has gained strength and is expected to be a category two hurricane at landfall.

Hurricane Nate strengthened during the night. Still moving at 22 mph, the storm is packing 85-mph winds which could reach 90 mph by landfall tonight.

Nate is strengthening faster than predicted and was redesigned a hurricane at 10:30 p.m.

The National Hurricane Center's latest graphic now shows Pensacola and areas east outside of the predicability cone.

Holt and the surrounding areas are now in the National Hurricane Center's three-day cone of predicitability.
