DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, Fla., May 30, 2018–Two DeFuniak Springs men were arrested May 29 for cocaine trafficking.
Walton County Sheriff’s Office VICE/Narcotics unit investigators arrested Kadeem Kenneth Ingram, 28, and Alexander Bernard Smith, 29, Tuesday after discovering approximately one-and-a-half ounces of crack cocaine in their possession.
Investigators identified Ingram standing in a yard off Bay Avenue in DeFuniak Springs. Investigators were aware Ingram had two outstanding warrants for his arrest.
Ingram got in a vehicle and was seen sitting in the driver’s seat with Smith in the passenger seat.
When investigators approached the vehicle, they saw Ingram begin shoving what appeared to be bags of cocaine in the center console while Smith was seen putting items in the pocket of the passenger side door.
Ingram was placed under arrest for his two outstanding warrants.
A search of the vehicle found plastic bags of cocaine, marijuana and a digital scale located in the center console and passenger side door.
Additionally, $2,637 in currency was seized pending forfeiture proceedings.
Ingram and Smith were arrested and charged with cocaine trafficking and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Both were transported and booked into the Walton County Jail and bonded out on $50,000 bonds Wednesday.
